English Nine Grading Procedures

In this class, everything you do is worth 100 points; however, assignments are weighted differently.  Homework is twenty-five percent of your final grade; papers, speeches, and projects are thirty-five percent of your final grade; and tests and quizzes are forty percent of your final grade.

One goal I have this year is to help you develop your study skills and become more independent.  I encourage you to use your agenda and keep up with assignments.  However, if an assignment is turned in late, I will follow the school policy regarding late work that is outlined in your student handbook.  According to that policy, if a student fails to turn in an assignment, but turns it in the very next class period, he or she can still receive seventy-five percent credit.  Also, a student can choose to redo two assignments each semester.

The school grading scale is as follows:

            A         100-93                         C         77-73

            A-        92-90                           C-        72-70

            B+       89-88                           D+       69-68

            B          87-83                          D         67-63

            B-        82-80                           D-        62-60

            C+       79-78                           F          59 and below
