College Reading List

If you are planning on attending a four year college or taking the AP English Test your senior year of high school, this reading list will help you prepare.  The majority of books on this list fall under the traditional cannon of literature.
These two sites are helpful if you enjoy writing and/or reading poetry.

Here you can access a number of quality online resource tools (like ESBSCOHost).

This website, published by the Young Adult Library Services Association, has muliple book lists for adolescents who are looking for a great fiction book to read.

This online dictionary, published by Merriam-Webster, is a good place to look up the spelling or meaning of a word.  It also has a thesaurus component for those looking to replace a word in their writing.

Recognizing Web Pages

It is always a good idea to locate who published a website so that you can analyze the publisher's level of expertise and/or potential bias.  The web address itself is a good place to begin analyzing credibility.  See the attached document for clues.

Nonfiction for the College Bound

Nonfiction for Young Adults

Here are two good non-fiction reading lists, both taken from the Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association.
